Very interesting solo wheel motorcycle!

I was watching Jay Leno's Garage last night and saw this vehicle. I couldn't resist taking a video of it and posting it here. I've seen photos of it before but never a video. it looks like it could go very fast!

My Tidalforce M-750X goes on eBay

This is my second Tidalforce M-750X that I'm selling on eBay. It's a lightly used, and I've replaced the front hub battery with a 36V LiPO battery made from Turnigy Multistar cells. Very light at around 5 lbs and very strong. I've also added a Large Screen Cycle Analyst V2.23 to the system to monitor the battery.

Sale ends this Sunday August 2nd.

New battery for my next ebike

I put together another battery for my next Tidalforce bike. This time it's a 10S pack made from a 6S and a 4S pack in series. I made an acrylic outer shell and Gorilla taped it together with an outer wrap of 4" gaffers tape. I need to do the wiring and the end caps next.

Google Photos Story - Opening up a dead Wavecrest Labs/Tidalforce electric motor

Google Photos uploaded some of my images and made them into "stories." Here's one to try out.

Pictures of Turnigy Multistar LiPo packs (6S 16Ah, 6S 10Ah, 4S 10Ah)

I received the two Turnigy Multistar 10Ah (or 10000mAh) LiPo packs from Hobbyking recently. I ordered a 6S 10Ah and a 4S 10Ah pack. This joins the 6S 16Ah (or 16000mAh) pack that I already had. The 10Ah packs are significantly smaller (go figure!).

New Tidalforce M-750X bike sold!

A very nice gentleman bought my bike! He will have a friend pick it up so I don't need to pack and ship it, which is greatly appreciated.

I hope the new owner enjoys his new bike!

Pics of my completed Tidalforce M-750X with my Bottle Mount Battery

I finally completed (to my satisfaction), my "NEW" Tidalforce M-750X electric bike with Avid BB7 front disc brakes and my modified battery water bottle mount. I should just call it my battery mount from now on. I bought the NOS (new old stock) bike frame from a former Tidalforce/Wavecrest Labs employee who was working for EMS when EMS shut down. He had these to sell so I bought a couple.

The bike feels very well balanced and not back heavy (as is the case with a rear rack mounted battery). It's nimble with the lower front wheel weight and lower center of gravity. As is the case with all Tidalforce bikes, it's extremely smooth and totally silent.

I am planning on putting this bike up on eBay shortly so keep your eyes open for it!

First ride of the Tidalforce S-750C with the BAC500 and Crystalyte HS3540

Just wanted to report that I took a ride with the BAC500, CADP V3 and Crystalyte HS3540 motor on an old 37V limn battery and the combination worked well. The motor was COMPLETELY silent compared to the Crystalyte sensorless controller. It needs a bit more fine tuning of the throttle response curve but so far, I'm very happy.

In the video below, My Gopro was mounted on the stanchion of the front fork so it picks up lots of disc brake noise which isn't nearly as bad when you're riding the bike. The motor itself was beautifully silent and very smooth.

Putting my titanium Tidalforce S-750C (for Crystalyte) back together again

The weather has finally started to ease up. I am feeling the riding bug again!

Over the winter, I've picked up the tiny Mac 7T (speed wind) and eBikes.ca's FOC BAC500 controller. However, the Crystalyte HS3540 motor has been patiently waiting for a new sensorless controller in order to bring it back to life. The BAC500 seems perfect for the job. It is so tiny and clings to the seatpost with only a couple of tie wraps that I had to try it first.

ebikes.ca BAC500 FOC controller with Crystalyte HS3540 motor

I put together my new ebikes.ca BAC500 controller with my old Crystalyte HS3540 motor to see how it would work. The HS3540 is sensorless since it was damaged from the original owner.

The BAC500 ran the motor beautifully. It didn't turn the motor backwards for a second very often as is common with the Crystalyte sensorless controller. It also made the motor sound very much like a Tidalforce motor! I love the size of the controller which is quite tiny and is slightly wider than a seat post!

Here's a quick video of the setup on my rec room floor. I'm running the setup on a Bosch Fat Pack 37V pack that is half discharged...

I'm very pleased so far...

Video of quickly trued Mac 7T motorized Alexrims DM18 wheel

I spent literally 5 minutes truing the wheel and it came out quite well. I did a very close up video of the wheel here:

My Park Tools Truing Stand only has one finger to measure the wheel so here it is very close to the wheel.

Lacing a MAC geared motor to an Alex Rims DM18 WHEEL

I was motivated last night, the coldest night of the year so far, to lace up the MAC geared motor to the Alexrims DM18.

The SAPIM spokes are double butted and gorgeous!

I haven't trued it yet but that's next.
